World's tallest mohawk stands 3 ft 8.6 inches :

A Japanese designer has been crowned by the Guinness Book of World Records for having the tallest mohawk haircut in the world. The tip of Kazuhiro Watanabe's spiked mohawk stands 3 ft 8.6 inches proud of his skull and earned him a place in the 2013 edition of the book, which is released on Thursday.
Watanabe unveiled his hair-do at a press event in New York on Wednesday to mark the launch of the new book. "It was a lot of work ... but I am happy to have achieved the world's No 1," 40-year-old Watanabe told reporters, adding that it had taken him 15 years to grow the mohawk to its present size.
To get it into shape takes three stylists, three cannisters of hair spray and a bottle of hair gel, Watanabe said.
Without gel and hairspray, the hair reaches his knees.

Window Washers Dress As Superheroes At Children's Hospitals :

In heartwarming news, the window washers at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, dressed as Superman and Captain America to surprise the sick children there while they worked on the sides of the building. Then they came in for a meet-and-greet and all the kids had a great time and were able to forget about their illnesses for a little bit and maybe the world isn't the terrible place I always make it out to be, the end.

Is there really a blue tiger called the Maltese tiger?

The Maltese tiger, or blue tiger, is a reported but unproven coloration morph of a tiger, reported mostly in the Fujian Province of China. It is said to have bluish fur with dark grey stripes. Most of the Maltese tigers reported have been of the South Chinese subspecies. The South Chinese tiger today is critically endangered, and the "blue" alleles may be wholly extinct. Blue tigers have also been reported in Korea, home of Siberian tigers. The term "Maltese" comes from domestic cat terminology for blue fur, and refers to the slate grey coloration. Many cats with such colouration are present in Malta, which may have given rise to the use of the adjective in this context.

Walking In Circles - The Lujiazui Pedestrian Bridge :..

Sometime last year, a new pedestrian bridge was unveiled in Lujiazui in the Pudong district of Shanghai. This large scale circular pedestrian overpass enables pedestrians to avoid traffic at the round-about terminus of Lujiazui Rd. The bridge provides access to the Oriental Pearl Tower connecting financiers to leisure areas such as shopping malls and cafes, a transit station and office buildings. The bridge sits almost 20 feet above the street, with numerous escalator stairway entrances and exits.

 The very contemporary design and long spans between columns provides a pleasant street level experience. Visitors enjoy the walkway for its privileged views of the city as well as its introduction of clean and easy foot transportation. At night the structure is illuminated to great dramatic effect.
The walkaway is 5.5 meter high and can fit 15 people walking side by side. Since it’s opening, it has become quite a tourist attraction.

Incredible Ice Bubbles In Lake Abraham :

Abraham Lake is an artificial lake on North Saskatchewan River in western Alberta, Canada. The lake was created in 1972, with the construction of the Bighorn Dam, and named after Silas Abraham, an inhabitant of the Saskatchewan River valley in the nineteenth century.
          Abraham Lake is home to a rare phenomenon where bubbles get frozen right underneath its surface. They're often referred to as ice bubbles or frozen bubbles. This has made the lake famous among photographers. Photographer Fikret Onal explains the phenomenon: "The plants on the lake bed release methane gas and methane gets frozen once coming close enough to much colder lake surface and they keep stacking up below once the weather gets colder and colder during [the] winter season."

 “Even though I've walked on a frozen lake before on every occasion, the frozen Abraham Lake made me feel completely uneasy since the lake was not covered with snow (it was too cold to snow, below -30 Celsius with wind chill). Even though the icy surface was around 8-9 inches thick, it still scared the hell out of me not only because of the fact that I can see all the cracks in all directions everywhere and to see the darkness of the lake bottom through the glassy surface, also the deep boomy, underwater and cracking sounds coming from the underneath of the lake surface…”

Wendy - The Schwarzenegger dog

Wendy has been called the Schwarzenegger of doggies, but she didn’t have to work out for hours to achieve her look. She was born that way. She is what is called a “bully Whippet.”
        It's the result of having two mutated copies of the myostatin gene. Whippets with one defective copy of the gene have increased muscle mass that can enhance racing performances in the brisk-running breed, which can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometres per hour.
        But whippets with two mutated copies of the gene, like Wendy, become "double-muscled," which looks a lot like it sounds. The muscles on her 30-kilogram body bulge, dwarfing her small head and dainty, whippet-thin legs.

The wildest superhero ever - Rick Rojatt :

 

 If ever there was a story that needed to be made into a feature film, it’s the story of Rick Rojatt – The Human Fly. His most famous stunt was almost certainly the one you see pictured above, he mounted himself atop a Douglas DC-8 wearing a thin cotton suit, gave the  thumbs up and was then flown at speeds in excess of 280 mph at 5000ft. The plane encountered a light rain shower during the flight and pain of being hit by water droplets at almost 300mph was so excruciating that Rick passed out, then needed 6 weeks of hospitalisation to recover.

The comic book company Marvel created a character based around The Human Fly with the catchphrase “The wildest superhero ever, because he’s real!” and Rick Rojatt would travel around the country, always in costume, to attend charity events. These events were elaborately staged and there’d invariably be a comic book villain waiting at each event to steal the money that had been raised. The Human Fly would triumph over him in the end and the children in attendance would almost lose their minds with glee.

The last recorded stunt performed by The Human Fly took place at the Montreal Olympic Stadium in 1977, he was to ride a specially built rocket-powered Harley-Davidson over 27 busses with a view to beating Evel Knievel’s world record of 13.
